Hello Reader from Nick in Austin, Texas.

π faxZERO: send PDF to fax (no charge)β
Send maximum 3-page faxes for no charge to anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. I used it last week for a new credit card application with that MileMethod service that I still use. I wanted free points for lie-flat seats to Hawaii π
π€ Joe Rogan has a werewolfβ
Behind-the-scenes of what it is like to get booked and interviewed on the popular American podcast hosted by Joe Rogan. Detailed article written by a PR person. She seems VERY smart. I learned some new things like: Joe and the guests often get pre-show boosts of B12 or NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) via a shot or IV drip. That helps explain how they sit through such long interviews with no breaks.
ποΈ Manhatta: bar in NYC in financial districtβ
60th floor bar with impressive views. I haven't been but my friend and college roommate Zach Klein (co-founder of Vimeo and author of Cabin P*rn) said it will impress almost anyone visiting NYC for the first time.
πΉMy Parents Hosted a Party: Here's What They Learnedβ
Do your parents need more friends? Imagine how their life could be different if they knew a few more people in their neighborhood. Well, maybe they can host a happy hour! My parents hosted a party a few weeks ago and met a bunch of their neighbors. Here's exactly how they invited people, what they served (not much!), and lessons learned (more cookies).
π An Old Medicine Remedies Hair Loss for Pennies a Day, Doctors Sayβ
This NYT article seems to say that oral consumption of Minoxidil- instead of topical, in drops and foam like most people use it directly on the scalp- is more effective. Which... that's wild. LMK if anyone has tried it. Hair loss is a funny thing. I need to update my original post about it and what I'm doing. It effects women and men! And generally by the time you realize your hair is thinning, you've already lost 50% of your hair. I still use Minoxidil topical drops daily (aka generic Rogaine) plus 1mg daily pill of Finasteride (generic Propecia).
π David Kadavy's July 2022 Income Reportβ
Are you thinking about writing and selling a book? My friend David Kadavy lists how much he makes from his books each month in these detailed write-ups, including his marketing expenses, lessons learned, etc. I'll include some of my own stats at the end of this newsletter.
πͺ’ How to effectively wrap a charging cableβ
This is legit. "Using this quick and easy method, your cords and charging cables will stay wrapped, won't get tangled, and are very easy to unwrap."
Podcast: All the Hacks
I was a guest on the podcast All the Hacks. The host said that our interview was so good that he released it in two parts.
βPart 1: Hosting Parties, Building Relationships, and Friends Newslettersβ
"Entrepreneur and author Nick Gray joins Chris to discuss his mission to get people to host more parties, make connections, build friendships, and live a richer life. They delve into why Nick thinks name tags and icebreakers are mandatory and lots more."
βPart 2: Bonus Q&A: Favorite Destinations, Maximizing Points, Combatting Jet Lag and Moreβ
We discussed all things travel like: my favorite app for jet lag (Timeshifter), cruises, Southwest airline hacks, how to get the best value when purchasing airfare with points, and more.

The End
Thanks for reading my Friends Newsletter.
I'm back in Austin for the next few weeks and happy to be on my old routines. I took my paddleboard out into Town Lake last night. I cut a half of a watermelon, brought a shaker of salt, and just floated with a friend into sunset. Pics on my Instagram. It was a nice way to end the day.
And now today is a new day!!
Let's go get it. Have a great week.
